About Me
My name is Gilbert Apodaca, I am a 5th year educator at Centennial High School in San Luis, Colorado.
I am a proud alumnus of Centennial High School (Class of 2002). After school, I left the San Luis Valley to attend school in Fort Collins at Colorado State University. I graduated from CSU in 2006, earning my Bachelors of Science degree in Forestry from the Warner College of Natural Resources. After a brief stint pursuing a rewarding career as a wildland firefighter, I decided to return home to pursue my main goal in life, to become a teacher. Granted, I didn't think that I would be a teacher until later in life, I was blessed with the opportunity to return home, help out my family, and pursue my dream job.

About This Site
This website will provide a portal for students with links about: information discussed in class, additional resources and information, and link to myself outside school hours. I use a wide array of multimedia information to help my students understand the information presented. Of the many online areas where I draw information from these are my favorite: Wikipedia, Khan Academy, Youtube, Smithsonian Institution, NASA, Colorado State University, and many others. All of these resources that I utilize are free and readily available to students all over the world. Being an educator in the great state of Colorado, I follow the Colorado Model Content Standards and utilize curriculum developed by Harrison School District.
